Reserve Chicks - Wyandottes
Wyandottes are a classic American breed chicken known for its steady egg production of between 200-250 light brown medium to large eggs per year. They are a dual purpose breed meaning they can be raised for both egg production as well as meat. They are a docile breed and are known to be hardy in colder temperatures. Wyandotte chickens are a kid friendly breed and are one of our favorites!
Our Wyandotte chicks are hatched here on the farm between February through July. Reserve yours now and you can come pick them out right from our brooders once they hatch.
All chicks are sold as 1 day-1 week old, unsexed, $8 each. You are charged $1 per chick to reserve, with the balance due at pickup. We follow the buddy system for all chicks, therefore there is a required minimum of 2 chicks per order.
Available Wyandotte colors:
Blue Laced Red Wyandotte (BLRW - Red feathers with dark blueish grey laced edges);
Black Laced Blue Wyandotte (BLBW - Dark blueish grey feathers with black laced edges);
Gold/Red Laced Black Wyandotte (G/RLBW - Reddish gold feathers with black laced edges).
**Sometimes a lighter variation of these will occur, resulting in what we call “Splash Laced Red Wyandotte” (Reddish gold feathers with a light greyish blue laced edge or “Blue Wyandotte” (a light solid grey with little to no lacing). This is typically visible in chicks but sometimes can occur later on during mature feather growth or change with molting. (See last photo)
Once our hatch schedule is out, we will contact you with an estimated date your chicks will be hatched. We do our best to hatch as many chicks as we can, but if we cannot fulfil your order we will notify you immediately and refund you.
